Modest pay rises
for 88,000 government employees
JHL (10.03.2010 - Juhani Artto) Collective bargaining concerning
some 88,000 government employees led to an accommodation being reached on Sunday last. The
2-year agreement raises salaries by 0.55 per cent retroactively from 1 March 2010 and by
0.43 per cent from 1 September respectively.
The
2011 pay rises will be negotiated later on. If the parties do not find a solution to the
2011 pay rise question then the agreement can be terminated by 28 February 2011.
One novelty in the negotiated agreement is the six-day paid paternal leave. And a task
force, representing the main parties to the agreement, will handle issues related to
subcontracting and reorganising with regard to government tasks.
The agreement still needs the approval of the decision-making bodies of the main parties.
The employees are represented by the Trade Union for the Public and Welfare Sectors JHL,
the Federation of Salaried Employees Pardia and the bargaining cluster Juko.
